Sustainability

Good coffee, grown right and roasted clean.

From the soil it grows in to the heat we roast it with, we're always asking how our coffee can do a little less harm and a little more good.

Coffee travels a long way to reach your cup. Every step along the way, from how it's farmed to how it's roasted, leaves a mark. We can't fix everything, but we can choose better at every step we control. Here's what that looks like for us.

At the farm

Organic, regenerative farms.

We buy from small family farms that grow organically, without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Many go further, with regenerative practices that put life back into the land instead of wearing it out.

That means shade trees overhead, ground cover between the rows, and composted cherry pulp returned to the soil. Healthy soil holds more water and more carbon, and it keeps growing great coffee for the next generation of the family.

An all-electric Bellwether coffee roaster in the Coast To Coast Coffee roastery

At the roastery

Roasted on electricity, not gas.

Most coffee roasters burn natural gas to roast. Ours doesn't. We roast every batch on an all-electric Bellwether roaster, so there's no flame, no gas line, and no fuel burned in our shop.

Electric roasting also gives us precise, repeatable heat. We can roast in small batches, roast what we need, and keep every bag fresh, which means less coffee going stale on a shelf.

Less waste, start to finish.

  • Grown organic

No synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, so the land, the water and the people farming it stay healthier.

  • Farmed regeneratively

Practices that rebuild soil and support the plants and wildlife living around the coffee.

  • Roasted electric

No gas burned at our roastery. Just clean, precise heat for every batch.

  • Roasted fresh

Small batches mean we roast what we need, so less coffee goes stale or goes to waste.

Every cup is a small vote for better coffee.

Thanks for being part of it.
